Introduction to network performance analysis using queueing theory. Networks with real-time demands in adversarial environments: network stability problem. Quality of Service in heterogeneous multimedia networks. Service algorithms of distributed multimedia network applications. Network security: virtual private networks, cryptography (DES, RSA). Pricing network services. Introduction to wireless multimedia networks. Multimedia network applications (Voice over IP, Video on demand). Survey of current research papers.
