Stories told by graduates

The Department addresses a wide range of subjects enabling students to concentrate and focus on what mostly motivates them. The curriculum consists of a multitude of different and simultaneously interrelated courses. Its main objective is to promote and highlight the cultural heritage with the help of new technologies. The staff of the department (faculty members and administration) is very supportive and cooperative which highly contributes to a smooth integration of students into their new academic environment and an easy academic life as well.

Nikos Korozis

The Department provides full education and training for cultural management using new technologies. This is why this section is interesting and unique. The fruitful blending of humanitarian and social studies with Information and Communication Technology creates incredible potential for the management, promotion and dissemination of cultural goods. Moreover, since at European level development and culture are two concepts that coexist and the European development policy is based on culture, it is absolutely clear that studies in the field of culture and new technologies are important and modern.

Xanthi Skandalou

The Department successfully combines two seemingly opposite worlds, that of history, art and folk culture with that of technology, multimedia and marketing. The excellent curriculum together with skilled and motivated faculty and supportive administration create a delightful learning environment where different concepts interplay complementing each other in the context of cultural heritage management, a rapidly growing sector globally.

Vasso Anastassopoulou, Secondary Education Professor

The students of the Department have the opportunity to get in touch with a variety of cognitive and research areas that promote the wider education on arts, history, applications in computer science, etc, and make them professionals capable of managing our rich cultural heritage.

Dimitra Pantou, Primary Education Teacher

Studies at the Department go smoothly and pleasantly. The environment is quiet and it is important that the communication with the professors is very close. Moreover, the annual events organised by the students for the local community, contribute to the visibility and promotion of the Department.

Theodora Soufli, Secretary, VEGRE P.C.

The department successfully combines two areas of study: culture and technology. Faculty's devotion to students provides an excellent educational environment. Career perspectives in cultural heritage management as well as in cultural informatics are wide and very interesting.

Kostas Simpos

Study! It is super! Completing the graduate program of the Department, I can certainly state that my knowledge and skills significantly increased. The interdisciplinary nature of the Department, on the one hand, as well as the fact that most fellow students come from areas of diverse backgrounds, makes this experience a special, unique and very interesting journey.

Fotis Tsipis

The Department provides students with the appropriate background for management, promotion and dissemination of cultural heritage utilizing information and communication technologies (ICT) as a basic tool. The excellent cooperation and communication among students and faculty members highly contributes to a successful outcome.

Elli Polydera

The specific knowledge provided for the identification and promotion of culture through technology in combination with the immediacy of the department teachers create the most suitable environment for the successful education of each student

Gogo Bia, Hair Styling Expert

The Department features an interdisciplinary character and at the same time it nicely combines two different worlds. Two different, yet totally intertwined sectors, culture and technology, that modern society certainly needs. My studies at the Department were the means to acquire significant knowledge. Remarkable professors and administrative staff are always willing to help.

Dorina Gegaj

The Department offers the necessary background on culture and cultural heritage as well as on the use of Technology so that they can make useful tools for the management of cultural organizations. Graduates obtain the necessary skills to either work in the field of Cultural Informatics or in the equally demanding field of Cultural Resource Management, to be able to follow developments in the cultural industry and evolve.

Theodora Lytra, Auditor, Court of Audit

The Department has a pioneering and distinctive character as an objective to teach young students the emergence of the local and global cultural heritage through the learning of new technologies. History, arts, ancient literature, archaeology, architecture, museology, theater and cinema are being approached through a new perspective that is best viewed and managed through the use of technology and market rules. The qualified faculty and administrative personnel significantly contribute to this effort which falls into the - recent though rapidly developing - sector of cultural heritage management.

Rena Kikioni, Primary Education Professor

As a graduate, I can state that my experience in the Department looks like a journey which changed my way of thinking. Its biggest advantage is that due to the small number of students, we were able to develop a close relationship with our professors.
In many occasions throughout our life there are two opposite sides, but in this case the bridge is invisible. To me, the relatively small population in the Department and the fact that you spend time with the same people every day helped me build healthy friendships without competition. Another very important aspect of the studies at the Department is the fruitful blending of technology, history and culture.
All the above are differently perceived by each single individual. As far as I am concerned if you love a place and the people who surround it, then apart from a university degree, which is something easy nowadays, you also gain values, which is something really hard to find.

Georgia Georgoulopoulou

The interdisciplinary nature of the department and close communication with professors provide an ideal environment for broad-minded students eager to apply the power of modern technology to the rich world of modern and classical culture.
