MCR707 ΕC Issues of Art History

The subject of the course is to define the subject of Art History, to present the materials and techniques of visual products, to highlight ways of documenting them, to analyze the factors of shaping and evolution of style, and to present the main methods of analysis artistic work as they were formulated during the 20th century (Morphological Methods, Iconological Method, Social History of Art – Aesthetics of Recruitment – Psychoanalytic Approach, Feminist History of the Art).
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with these ways of approaching and interpreting works of art so that the cognitive field of Art History can be later smoothly explored.
